Privacy Policy

At Blessing Partners, Inc., we value your trust and are committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard the data you provide when interacting with our real estate services and website.

Scope

This Privacy Policy covers how Blessing Partners, Inc. collects, uses, and protects information from website visitors and current or prospective residents.

We are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of transparency regarding our data practices for all individuals who interact with our real estate services in Washington, DC.

Depending on what you do on the site, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, the property you are asking about, the content of your message, and information relevant to a rental application, including employment or income information, rental history, and details of a housing subsidy such as a Housing Choice Voucher. If you request an accommodation, we may receive information about a disability-related need.

You choose what to send us. Some information is necessary to process an application or a payment, and we will tell you when that is the case.

We collect personal identification information including names, contact details, government-issued IDs, and employment history. For applicants, we also collect credit history and background check information as permitted by law.

Our web host and analytics tools record standard technical data when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and the time of the visit. We use this to keep the site working, to protect it against abuse, and to understand which pages people use.

Collected data is used to verify eligibility for housing, execute lease agreements, process rent payments through Stripe, respond to maintenance requests, and comply with D.C. housing regulations.

The site uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for it to function, to remember your preferences, and to measure traffic in aggregate. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work properly if you do. Where the law requires consent for non-essential cookies, we ask for it before setting them. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your physical and digital records. Financial transactions are handled by PCI-compliant processors; we do not store sensitive payment card details on our own servers.

We share personal information only as needed, with: our payment processor; screening and background check providers used for rental applications, with your authorization and in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act; the District of Columbia Housing Authority or another subsidy administrator where a subsidy applies; contractors and vendors performing repairs, limited to what they need to do the work; our attorneys, accountants, insurers, and lenders; and government agencies or courts where the law requires it.

Vendors are permitted to use the information only to perform services for us.

Our website uses basic analytics cookies to understand site performance and visitor interests. These do not identify individual users unless you voluntarily submit a form.

Payments are handled by Stripe, Inc. Your card number, bank account number, and security codes go directly to Stripe. Blessing Partners, Inc. does not receive or store them. We receive confirmation of the transaction, the amount, the date, the payment method type, and the last four digits of the instrument, which we keep as part of the rent ledger. Stripe processes your data under its own privacy policy.

We share information with governmental agencies like DCHA for voucher administration, and with third-party service providers (maintenance contractors, payment processors) strictly to facilitate requested services.

We use personal information to respond to inquiries, to evaluate rental applications under uniform written criteria, to prepare and administer leases, to process payments and maintain a rent ledger, to schedule and complete maintenance, to meet obligations to a housing authority in connection with a subsidy, to comply with law and to keep records, and to protect the security of the site and our property.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

You may review or update your contact information at any time by contacting our office. You may also opt-out of non-essential communications, though essential lease-related notices cannot be disabled.

We keep application, lease, payment, and maintenance records for as long as the tenancy lasts and afterward for the period required by District of Columbia and federal law and by our lenders and insurers, generally not less than three years after the tenancy ends. Inquiries that do not result in an application are deleted or de-identified when they are no longer needed.

Our site may link to external portals for rent payment or housing resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites; we encourage you to read their respective policies.

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted transmission, access limited to people who need it, and use of a PCI-compliant payment processor. No system is perfectly secure. Please do not send Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, or government identification numbers through the website contact form. We will tell you a secure way to provide them when they are genuinely needed.

Our services are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children without parent or guardian consent for lease occupancy records.

You may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct information that is wrong, to delete information we no longer need to keep, or to stop sending you non-essential email. Write to info@BlessingPartners.com or call 202.995.3196. We may need to verify your identity, and some records must be kept to comply with law or a lease.

Where required, we honor browser Global Privacy Control signals.

Our operations are conducted exclusively within the District of Columbia, USA. By sharing information, you acknowledge the data will be processed according to U.S. federal and local laws.

We may update this policy. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we handle information we already hold, we will make reasonable efforts to notify affected residents and applicants directly.

We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via email to current residents and posted prominently on our website with a new effective date.

The site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 through the site. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We retain records for the duration of the residency plus any additional time required by tax, legal, or housing compliance regulations. Once no longer needed, data is securely destroyed.

Information you give us in support of a request for a reasonable accommodation or modification is kept confidential, used only to evaluate and carry out the request, and shared only with people who need it for that purpose or where the law requires disclosure.

Data collection is performed in strict adherence to Fair Housing laws. We do not use collected information to discriminate based on protected characteristics, including source of income or voucher status.

Questions or requests about privacy: info@BlessingPartners.com, 202.995.3196, or Blessing Partners, Inc., 712 H Street NE, Suite 1005, Washington, DC 20002. We respond within thirty days.
